Visual Data Expands with Affusion Media's Tim Rollenhagen & Director of Technical Operations Dan Parrish
January 12, 2009
As part of an ongoing expansion of services and facility, Visual Data Media Services, Inc. has brought on two senior executives with top level experience in entertainment technology. Visual Data- a partner to major studios and distribution companies for over 15 years by providing integrated end-to-end post-production solutions for the seamless repurposing and distribution of content for all media outlets- welcomes the former president of Affusion Media, Tim Rollenhagen, to their team to head the New Media Division. Significant infrastructure assets from Affusion Media have been acquired by Visual Data as well. Dan Parrish, a respected industry veteran most recently with Lightning Media, will also be taking on the newly created role of Director of Technical Operations for the multi-media services company.
The addition of Rollenhagen and Parrish is the latest in a series of moves the company is making to expand its services to meet clients ever growing needs in a radically changing media landscape. “Our industry is transforming, and as new media needs and formats evolve at an ever faster rate, our clients look to us to stay three steps ahead,” said John Trautman, President of Visual Data. “With Tim and Dan on board, that’s where we will continue to be. Their combined wealth of technical knowledge and keen insight into the future of our business make them perfectly suited for our team. We are very lucky to have them.”
Rollenhagen will head up the company’s expanded New Media division. Visual Data will now offer complete Blu-ray and DVD menu design services; as well as a full range of authoring capabilities available for full length motion pictures, documentaries, short films, corporate presentations and show reels. Encoding and content delivery via VOD, optical media replication and duplication, print design and pre-press services, and short run BD-R / DVD-R services will also be provided.
In tandem with Rollenhagen’s move to the company, Visual Data acquired authoring stations, menu design/creative work stations, encoding devices, DVD printers and data recorders from Affusion Media. Having served as President of Affusion Media for 6 years, Rollenhagen is uniquely qualified to take on this new position.
He began his career in technical operations management in 1981 as a machine room supervisor at Unitel Video, and later at 525 Post Production. He went on to become Director of Operations at Varitel Video, followed by a stint as Vice President of Operations at Pittard Sullivan. He later served as Managing Director of Click 3X Visual Effects for 2 years.
Parrish brings over a decade of post-production experience to Visual Data. In his most recent position at Lightning Media, he served as facilities manager of their entire Hollywood facility. At Laser-Pacific, he served as manager of multi-media operations where he oversaw all aspects of their Digital Compression Facility. He started his work there as a project manager, managing production of DVD’s, Video CD’s and various mpeg-1 and mpeg-2 compression projects for clients, including New Line Home Video, Buena Vista, Miramax and MGM.
A native of Southern California, Parrish graduated from California State University at Northridge. He began his career in post-production at Sunset Post, where he worked as a post-production supervisor for such clients as Buena Vista, Universal and Paramount.
